There is a surprisingly large amount of DNA in our bodies. All the cells in the body are about 37 trillion.
According to the book How to Beat Diseases by Eating, the DNA is pulled out and connected in a single line to reach about 66.7 billion kilometers.
This is said to be 10 times the distance from Earth to Pluto. Every day, trillions of cells work tirelessly and replicate, causing errors.
Because of this, DNA is susceptible to damage, and one of the most damaging factors for DNA is the sun's ultraviolet rays.
If you drive without sunscreen, there is no small chance that our DNA will be damaged by the UV rays that spill through the windshield. It is said that this ultraviolet ray can cause 100,000 lesions of DNA every hour.
According to Yale University researchers, melanin pigments darken the skin and absorb ultraviolet rays. The absorbed energy is stored through a process called chemiexcitation.
